View from the Student Section - A Perspective from Campus:
Ah, DePaul. How I often love to see you win....just not this time. A chance for a big game for Henry Sims. DePaul has virtually no inside presence, unless you count Krys Faber, who I didn't even hear of in high school having grown up in his hometown (that's how you know you're bad). Cleveland Melvin, again is a forward in the mold of Kevin Jones, Moe Harkless, etc. When can we stop getting these guys against us? Brandon Young is a good barometer for this DePaul team. Tends to be a shot-jacker, but if he's on he's on. Put Jason on him, hope birthday boy can stifle him. Some good 3 point shooters as well on this Blue Demon team a la Jamie Crockett and Moses Morgan. May be the best 3-point shooting team the Hoyas have seen all season (Marquette?). Take care of the basketball against the press, cause the inexperience of DePaul to show, and get on the offensive glass, and we win the game. Hoya Saxa.

OldHoya took the family on the the road to support the Hoyas in their win over St. John's and while that was a great time (and OldHoya can strongly recommend Mario Batali's Otto Pizzeria), there was a stunning breakthrough with John Cahill. Let's be honest - OldHoya has been known to ride the refs at every game and it's consistently amazing that Cahill makes such awful calls against Georgetown. Well, the game progresses and lo and behold, an awful call against Georgetown but surprisingly, OldHoya bides his time and doesn't raise hell about it. Fast forward to the second half and following a great foul call on St. John's, a Red Storm supporter stands up and berates Cahill furiously. OldHoya simply shrugs and points out to Cahill that it was a pretty good call. Folks - Oldhoya's been working Cahill for 20 years now and that moment got the first smile and laugh in all that time. Persistence pays, even in the face of a cold hearted person like John Cahill.
In other news, Georgetown is facing DePaul tonight. This series has been something of a snoozer with Georgetown winning the last 10 meetings, including all 6 in Big East play. But the game is on the road and Oliver Purnell is slowly starting to get things going so it's good to be somewhat cautious. Overall, though, if the Hoyas can cut down their tunrovers, this game really shouldn't be much of a contest.

Tonight, our hoyas visit Rosemount to play DePaul. DePaul isn't in Rosemount. My nervousness isn't at its normal level (low). I don't know anything about DePaul other than the fact that they have a guy named Melvin. I think Melvin also has a first name for a last name. There is a very strong chance that Melvin 'Dominique Bassetts' us tonight.
I really hope that the Hoyas can come out of the gates strong and not let up. I would like to relax in the second half with a Bourbon Neat, as opposed to grudge drinking the entire game. Also, if anyone finds the resolution that I left @ Stout on Sunday, let me know! I want it back...sort of.

The Hoyas showed some spunk against a plucky Johnnies squad at MSG on Saturday, failing to crumble after St. John's whittled the lead to just 3 points with 6 minutes to play and cruised to a 20 point victory. Though piddling along at 1-4 in Big East play, the Demons are an improved squad and have played teams well at home (2-3 ATS), including posting that 'signature win' against a despicable Pitt team. If the Hoyas come out and do what they do, in the end I think the Hoyas win this by at least 10. I remember what happened the last time Georgetown traveled to Chicago, and that sickens me.

Fun game, but JT3 won't be happy
Too many turnovers, bad free throw shooting, and iffy defense.
75 is the second-most points we’ve given up all season, only the OT game with Memphis had more. Faster pace than most of our games though.
