View from the Student Section - A Perspective from Campus:
And now for the most annoying fight song of all time (cue Rutgers band). The Scarlet Knights swing into DC on Saturday, with little to no buzz on campus about their arrival. But make no mistake about it this is just as big a game as the last two. I still think we have to 4-0 vs St John's, Depaul, Rutgers, and Pitt to put ourselves in a good position for a stretch run in the BE. Maybe we can hit some free throws along the way. In all seriousness, Georgetown needs to come out with a purpose, and attempt to bury this Rutgers team early. They're a confident bunch, but they're still all freshmen(oh wait they have other players on their team?). Well, yeah Dane Miller's been playing out of his mind recently and I'm still waiting for Rutgers to have a graphic saying "THE LITHUANIAN" after every time Biruta scores (similar to West Virginia's "THE TURK"). Nate Lubick, though, has been playing excellent of late, and he will need to continue his string of good performances against the Gilvydas.
So here's to hoping for a half-full student section! Or apparently I finally get to write my student attendance rant next week.

Hoya faithful in the DC area, it looks like winter is upon us. And it's ugly. The sleet and snow provides a perfect backdrop for this game with Rutgers, who has proven to be a scrappy team but generally overmatched by the Hoyas. Rutgers has a few wins over the big boys this season but I think we can all agree that their beating Notre Dame in the last game is a good thing for all involved - anyone who supports Notre Dame is inherently suspect.
Georgetown has largely owned Rutgers at home, winning 17 of 19 but this remains a somewhat dangerous team. And with David Cox still on their staff, there's plenty of knowledge of the way Georgetown plays. But let's be honest, things have changed since Mr. Cox was on the Hilltop - back then, Henry was a skinny underclassman not quite ready for primetime and Jason Clark was just starting to find his sea legs.
It's an early tip so be sure to leave early, we all know how well DC does with snow.

Jahidi will be making the trip to Verizon for this one for some reason and Jahidi hates referring to himself in the 3rd Person. I am thoroughly concerned about this game, since an easy win is expected but a narrow one will take years off my life. I rate my nerves as severe.
Hopefully Markel Starks feels well enough to play and Henry Sims realizes that dunking the ball is a high percentage shot. Speaking of shots, Jahidi fully intends to chase an abundance of Stella Tall Boys during the game with victory shots of Jameson afterwards.

Jason Clark is awesome, but Jason Clark and his penchant for missing free throws in the final minute has cost me not one but two casual covers this season. I'll forgive the DePaul Debacle because at least it netted me a push, and everyone knows that in Vegas, a push is a win. Georgetown has consistently had fits containing guards who can put up buckets in bunches, and Rutgers has that and more in Eli Carter. I like the Hoyas to win this one and it may even be by a comfortable margin, but I ain't giving 11.5 to anyone in this league.
